By 2025, using e-payments instead of cash when buying food or stationery will be a way of life for students in Singapore. Digital payment infrastructure, such as tap-and-pay terminals, will be available in all schools, from primary to pre-university levels. It’s an expansion of POSB Smart Buddy, a digital payments system currently used by some 40,000 students in around 80 schools.
